We’re pleased to share that Karen Harilstad has joined the LutherCare Communities team as a member of our Board of Directors. Karen’s time with us began in 2017 as a board member, where she quickly became known for her leadership and financial insight. After stepping away in 2020 for personal time, she returned in 2024 following her retirement, bringing with her a renewed passion for service and community care.

Since early 2024, Karen has been deeply involved in volunteering at long-term care facilities and in spiritual care, offering her time and heart to those who need it most. Her compassion and dedication have made a lasting impression on everyone she works with.

Beyond LutherCare, Karen is a committed community volunteer through the Saskatoon Lion’s Club, where she supports individuals facing hardship. Whether she’s lending a hand or leading an initiative, Karen brings clarity, kindness, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Now serving on our Finance and Audit Committee, Karen continues to lead with integrity and vision. Her belief in ethical leadership and community connection aligns strongly with our mission, and her presence is already making a positive impact.

Karen’s goal is simple but powerful: to help create a place where people feel truly at home. We’re incredibly grateful for her efforts and excited for the ideas and leadership she will bring to LutherCare. Welcome Karen!
